I don't think it's quite normal for my neck to feel like this.

WARDED TO AMELIA. Are you-
In case you were wondering, it turns out Mildred really has been hiding a secret lover.

WARDED TO FRANK. It seems the weather gods are finally shining upon us. Perhaps this weekend is the time for that fishing trip I mentioned, if you are not too busy? I know I could use some time away from work.

I just remembered my wedding anniversary is in two days. I suppose I can only be grateful I didn't fail to remember until the morning itself. I have already informed my colleagues I unfortunately won't be able to work on Saturday, but then there's still Susan to take care of.
Amelia, I don't suppose you could be persuaded to babysit for us? Preferably I'd leave Susan with someone she knows.

WARDED TO AMELIA. Would you care to explain to me why I was informed this morning of your resignation?

How typical is it that when I finally decide to take a day off from work and make a fishing weekend out of it, the weather decides not to cooperate. When it rains, it truly does pour. This is the part where a boat would really come in handy.
At least Susan is enjoying herself.
WARDED TO AMELIA. I'm not sure alone is all that safe.

Amelia and I are at our parents' house, and we will be staying there for the weekend, in case anyone is wondering.
I- That is all.

WARDED TO EDGAR. I have thought about it. I can't say I approve, considering you have put us all at risk, but that is irrelevant right now.
Is there anything Amelia or I can do to help and/or minimise the damage? My contacts seem decidedly useless at the moment.

I always got the impression journals were for teenaged girls, but apparently I was mistaken. So, on Amelia and Evelyn's insistence, here I am. Whether or not I have anything of interest to note will remain to be seen, but perhaps my wife is right and this will prove to be suitable entertainment.
I suppose this is the part where I regale you with tales of the wonderful day I had. Unfortunately it was ordinary in pretty much every way, including the part where one of my colleagues thought it amusing to put salt in my tea instead of sugar. It's quite funny in a way, the limited imaginations many of our new interns have.
Fortunately tomorrow is a Sunday, which means I will be able to spend some time with wife and daughter. It is unbelievable to see how quickly Susan is growing up. Sometimes I fear waking up one day and discovering she is already at the age where she will leave her parents' care to build a family of her own.
